Tassie, Marchant & Brown Glass Intaglios

James Tassie was a Scottish stonemason turned artist/entrepreneur who found fame and fortune amidst the Classical Revival by creating an excellent series of casts of antiques, gems, cameos, medallions and intaglios in coloured paste, enamel and sulphur.

On the next page we also illustrate glass medallions from Nathaniel Marchant and gems by William Brown.
