Popular in central Europe for over 300 years these lidded tankards or Steins became more decorative and valuable during the 19th and early 20th Century. Perfect good quality examples with glass bodies are becoming increasingly rare.

A Bohemian Ruby Flash Stein of Scottish Interest

cut to clear with an unusual view of THE SIGNET LIBRARY in EDINBURGH, Scotland circa 1860, 20cm approx.

This famous scottish library was designed by Robert Reid and built between 1810 and 1823. It houses the library of the society of writers to Her Majesties Signet, which contains over 30,000 volumes of legal interest.
