Fuchsia.

A Thomas Webb 'Lay-Down' English Cameo Glass Scent Bottle,

the white overlay cut through to ruby with sprigs of Fuchsia,

circa 1883

Hallmarked English Silver, London 1883, makers mark of Samson and Morden,

The collar of the mount is inscribed 'Remember the Giver'

Fitted Case

In the 'Language of Flowers' a fuchsia represents 'good taste'.

Another scent bottle decorated with Fuchsias is exhibited as No 1 in our exhibition.

This was obviously a charming love token. The implication is that the Lady recipient has 'taste ' in choosing her suitor.
