Powell for Whitefriars, late 19th Century, Straw Opal glass suite

all pieces sold individally as below: Large Wine, Small wine, Finger bowl and stand.

A fine Whitefriars amber 'Serpent' glass vase or 'Comet' beaker designed by Harry Powell,

the body trailed with 'comet' or 'serpent' motifs, circa 1910, 8in (20cm) approx.

From the Historical Glass series, the inspiration for this vase was Claes Berchem's still life painting which is in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
